I chose Austin Peay not just because I earned a full scholarship to play football but because the Coaches promised me if I stayed here for four years I would graduate... Because I was the youngest of 10 with 4 older brothers who had not completed college at the time those words meant a lot to me.
My best memory that stands out are the intramural activities on campus. I did not have a car so we spent most of our days on campus in the Red barn and softball field competing in sports activities. Additionally I joined the ARMY ROTC program and was later commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. 20 years later I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel thanks to APSU ROTC program.
Enjoy campus life and the short years you have as a young Gov because before you know it you will be flipping that tassel at graduation...
