Barry: I had a high interest in math and sciences in high school. During the summer between my junior and senior year of high school, I participated in a six week summer Physics program at Austin Peay. It was a great program and that began my enduring relationship with the Physics department and the College of STEM.
Maggie: I was recruited for a Student Government scholarship by Dick Littleton. He came to Motlow State and met with me and convinced me this is where I needed to be. He was so right!
B: One reason is to give back. I was provided a little bit of unexpected financial support one quarter when things were tight thanks to the generosity of others. Now I can pay it forward. Another reason for staying connected is the relationships that developed over the years, now across multiple departments and colleges and with other Austin Peay supporters. And of course, going to sporting events!
M: I attended APSU on the generosity of alums and donors I never met. I am glad I can also do this for students who otherwise may not be able to attend college.
B: For having the largest endowment of any public University in Tennessee.
M: For APSU to become a legacy university. The first hundred years brought many first-generation college students to APSU, and I would like for their children and grandchildren to also become Govs.
